Pret unveils fresh addition to its US menu, offers moment of zen (and free matcha!) on January 29th
Pret introduces a range of Matcha drinks in shops nationwide
On Thursday, January 29th, Pret A Manger (“Pret”) will officially launch a selection of matcha drinks for the first time in its U.S. stores to complement its core mission of providing fresh, high-quality food and beverages. To celebrate the launch, Pret is offering guests who download and register for the free Pret app, a free 16 oz. Matcha Latte on January 29th, which will be redeemable in-shop at participating US Pret locations. Featuring 100% organic, ceremonial-grade matcha from Tenzo, the new offerings cater to those looking for an alternative to coffee and traditional teas while staying true to Pret's commitment to premium ingredients and freshness.
With an equal priority and passion for delicious food and high-quality offerings, Pret crafts tasty recipes with thoughtfully sourced and nourishing ingredients.The matcha menu will include an Oat Matcha Latte (available hot or iced), Matcha Lemonade and a Pink Guava Iced Matcha Latte. These latte recipes will be made with oat milk by default, however, customers can choose any milk they prefer at no extra charge. Customers can also customize their drinks with real-fruit compotes including blueberry and dragon fruit mango. All matcha beverages are crafted using Tenzo’s 100% organic matcha sourced from a family farm in Kagoshima, Japan, that has been cultivating green tea in rich, volcanic soil for over 400 years.
On January 23rd, Pret offered customers an exclusive first taste of its new matcha menu at Pret’s Union Square Shop. The shop’s upstairs was converted into a lounge with cozy couches and a full Matcha bar stocked with fan-favorite compotes, syrups and Pret’s variety of milk options. Throughout the day, the Baristas served over 300 Matcha Lattes and Matcha Lemonades, totally free for anyone who popped in. All event attendees left with a free Matcha drink and a gift bag courtesy of Pret and Tenzo.
